Yes they have the same season record…buuuut…these teams are not created equal.
The Arkansas Razorbacks have struggled for the past 7-8 years and this year is no different with losses to Ole Miss and San Jose State (my heart is still broken from this loss). Starting Arkansas QB Nick Starkel threw 3 tds and 5 picks last week in a loss, I predict a bounce back performance from Starkel this week. Starkel will also be playing with a chip on his shoulder because he was dethroned by Kellen Mond in last years Texas A&M QB battle. Rakeem the Dream Boyd is also a transfer from A&M so expect him to run with a little boot scoot and boogie. Arkansas defense is subpar. Defensive coordinator John Chavis may be on his last leg coaching because his Arkansas defense hardly resembles a defense at all. The only bright spot so far has been Kam Curl with 2 picks and a scoop and score TD thus far in the season.
Texas A&M also has two losses. One to Clemson and one to Auburn. These are respectable losses. Especially in year 2 of Jimbo Fishers tenure. Jimbo has high expectations in Texas with his ridiculous contract 10 year 75 million. For him and the Aggies to get the ball rolling the will need to start with my Hogs. With how the season is going so far i doubt they will have any issues winning this game. Arkansas has trouble stopping mobile QBs and the aforementioned Mond is exactly that. He only needs 109 rushing yards to reach 1000 career rushing yards. Let’s pray for my blood pressures sake that he doesn’t achieve that this freaking weekend baby.
Now i would love to see the Hogs upset #23 Aggies but its not looking likely. The last two matchups between these teams have been 7 point victories for the Aggies. So we have been playing them close even in our bad years. Saying all that I think the final score will be 41-27. You can Call the Hogs 9/28/2019 @ 11am on ESPN.
