As all football fans are aware, the NFL combine is starting this week. With that, GMs, coaches, and other team reps answer countless questions from the media.

Joe Douglas is about to head into his first combine, free agency, and draft as the General Manager of the New York Jets. He is off to a blazing hot start!
#Jets GM Joe Douglas on Jamal Adams (who was in trade talks during the season): “The plan is for Jamal to be a Jet for life. We've had preliminary talks with his agent and the goal is to have him here for a long time.”
— NFL Update (@MySportsUpdate) February 25, 2020
He finally said the words many of us Jet fans have been waiting to hear! What Jamal Adams has meant to this team goes way beyond his ability on the field. He is the leader this team has lacked for over a decade. He is the primary voice in the locker room and his ability on the field demands the respect of all of his peers in the locker room.
He was named first team All-Pro in the 2019 season and rightfully so. He has established himself as the best all around safety in the league and he is only going into his FOURTH SEASON!
He fell right into the lap of the Jets in the 2017 draft. He was widely regarded as the best overall player in the draft, but somehow he managed to slip to pick #6 where the Jets scooped him up. After everything he has done and everything he has given to this team over the last 3 years, it would be fucking idiotic to not make him the highest paid safety in league history. Currently Tyrann Mathieu holds that title with a cap hit of over $16M in 2020, but I’m sure Jamal’s extension will top that.
Another chorus of good news…
Jets GM Joe Douglas says he won’t initiate further trade talks involving Le’Veon Bell.

Now, I know Manish can be quite the fucking chode, but Joe Douglas has been adamant at the Combine that trading Leveon Bell is not part of the plan.
THANK FUCKING GOD!
All the hypothetical trades that people were coming up with were fucking nonsense! They all had the Jets getting dick back for Bell and none of it made any sense. Bell wasn’t the problem last year, Gase and the OL were. LeVeon made plenty of plays and if an OL improvement does happen, I can see Bell getting back to his old ways next year. Bell is a generational talent, and he is as smart of a running back as there is in the league. Hearing that Douglas has not been shopping him and will not trade him is music to my fucking ears!
Now the last part of this is exactly what Jet fans wanted to hear this offseason! Douglas is going to rebuild the OL!
Jets GM Joe Douglas:
— Eric Allen (@eallenjets) February 25, 2020
We need to have a strong offensive line. We have to do a good job of protecting Sam.
The OL was the absolute downfall of this team. There are too many lowlights of Sam being under siege for me to post in here. Without the highlights, this picture of the snap counts is all you need to see.

They didn’t have a single fucking guy that they could count on to protect their franchise QB. It was awful to watch and if you really don’t understand how bad it was, just go rewatch the MNF debacle against the Pats. Just fucking awful.
Douglas has plenty of options in free agency and then again in the draft to rebuild this OL. Guys like Joe Thuney, Jack Conklin and Brandon Scherff are guys to watch in FA. Then in the draft you have Jedrick Wills, Andrew Thomas, and Tristan Wirfs. Getting two or three of any of those guys absolutely improves this team in the short and long term.
Joe Douglas is not playing around and Jet fans across the world are rejoicing! Gase is a fucking chode, but Douglas knows what he’s doing and he is on a warpath to get the Jets back to the playoffs!
